Sports and recreational activities
The Moraine Valley Cyclones take part in 12 sports including cross-country, men's baseball, soccer, and golf, women's basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, volleyball, and softball. Moraine Valley is a member of the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference, which includes 7 other junior colleges in the surrounding area. There’s an athletics program which is housed in the Health, Fitness & Recreation Center (Building H) on campus and this program has certainly seen its successes, with many of its teams making it all the way to national competitions.
Moraine Valley also provides its students with many opportunities to get involved with over 40 clubs and organizations in and around campus. These include areas of special academic interest, like the Historical Society and the Psychology Club; diversity and religion, for example, The American Sign Language Club and Christian Fellowship; and media interests like the Glacier Student Newspaper and the Video Game Appreciation Club. In addition, Moraine Valley offers a whole range of facilities and activities for its students to enjoy in their spare time, such as the Health, Fitness & Recreation Center, a 1.45-mile jogging track, the library, the Fine and Performing Arts Center, the Student Union, and an observatory, including the Jack G. Bradley telescope and observation deck.
